My good friend =ChaosFay :iconchaosfay: who makes amazing macrame jewelry (scroll down to the bottom of the entry for examples) has a sick kitty and could use some help paying the medical bills.  They aren't major, but she's in a tight spot.  A couple of sales would do it.  Her work is awesome, and she's got a sale on right now at her Etsy shop: [link] .  SPRINGCLEANING is the coupon code to get 25% off on anything posted there.  Some of her pieces for sale use my pendants too.

You help save a kitty, and you get awesome jewelry at a discount, win-win for everyone.

Thanks!

K.

If you want something that's posted here and isn't posted there and know you'll buy it within 24 hours, I will post it there for you if that's how you prefer to check out.  Just let me know.

*razzigyrl :iconrazzigyrl: is a fabulous wire wrap artist, and she's going through some tough times.  Read her journal entry here:  [link] .  Some sales would help her out, and they'll help you out too, because you will have fabulous jewelry if you support her!

My awesome friend =ChaosFay :iconchaosfay: is having a 50% off sale on her jewelry (a lot of which uses my pendants).  Scroll down to the bottom of this entry to see examples of the work we've done together.  She is an amazingly talented macrame artist.  I have traded her for a number of chokers, necklaces and bracelets and I wear them more than anything I have.  They are wonderfully creative and they take a LOT of work, so the deal she is offering is outstanding.  Take advantage of it while it's on.

Here's her Etsy:  [link]

So I've come to a decision.  I've been making jewelry for several years now, and while I've made enough sales that I can't say it's been entirely useless from a financial point of view, it's never been particularly successful either.  Right now I have several dozen posted items which haven't sold and a couple dozen more which I haven't posted yet and still have no homes.  With such a huge backstock and no sign it's going anywhere, I'm done making jewelry to sell for the indefinite future.  I've spent the past year in a self-imposed creative moratorium where crafting is concerned.  I've made some stuff for trades, but nothing for myself since I'm already sitting in piles of my own jewelry.

I am ending my self imposed standstill, but all I'll be doing from now on are commissions, trades, gifts, and elaborate long-term projects for myself.  I can't continue to generate creative products with no destination.

I've also decided that everything currently for sale (listed here, on Etsy or my website) is up for grabs for trades (don't be deterred if you're overseas; I'll still trade with you), and I'll also consider any monetary offers on any items.  Literally name your price and I'll see what I can do.  I won't consider anything lower than $15-20 on most of my items (that's all in, shipping included).  If or when half of my backstock finds homes, I may make new stuff for sale.

I am now taking POINTS as a payment method for jewelry purchases.

It seems that DA now allows me to convert points into actual cash which I can withdraw through PayPal.  So, PayPal and money orders are no longer my sole payment methods.  You can now buy jewelry from me using points.  This includes commissions as well as pieces which are posted for sale.  Please note me if you would like to purchase something I've posted so I can calculate the shipping for you (as well as the value of the piece in points!).

So it'd be like this:

$15 item: 1200 points
$20 item: 1600 points
$30 item: 2400 points

and so on.

International shipping seems to run me about $10 these days, so add on another 800 points if you're not in the US.
US shipping: 400 points.

My friend =ChaosFay :iconchaosfay: is a brilliant macrame artist who makes fabulous necklaces at very low prices.  If you commission her for a necklace, I will give you 10% off on any pendant you wish to purchase from me.  We can combine your orders if you'd like as well and send you the finished result.  Here are some of the awesome necklaces she has made with my pendants:

  • Listening to: Seabound
  • Reading: Children of Dune
  • Watching: Prison Break
  • Playing: nothing
  • Eating: sandwich
  • Drinking: tea

Oh, I'd be more than willing to give you a premium membership for something! Whatever you're trading for? <3

Oh fantastic. How many months can you give me, and what is the approximate dollar value?

Hmm, maybe 3 months right now? That's like $7.95 I think. I may be able to give two of those, but I'll see about that. If I get 400:points: more, I can give you a three month from that instead of my Paypal, which I would like, but I guess it's the same in the end.

since I have to pay shipping to send something, for it to be worth my while it really needs to be six months or more. Someone told me they don't sell them in increments of 6 months, but maybe 2 three month ones? And I could trade you one of those pendants you mentioned you had your eye on the other week.

Yes, they have one, three, and twelve month increments. I'll see what I can do, then! If I can get enough extra money for 2 premiums I'll see what I can do. The cafe days have been slow lately, an I work just for tips, so I don't get too much money. :(

Alright! If I get to it, I'll probably have you send it to Renee and keep it on standby there until I get money for a commission from her with it. :)

That works! Someone did just get me a year's subscription. So that said, if you want to trade points directly instead, that'd be even better now.

I suppose the one you just took was a rather hard decision. A bummer to hear what happened to Shawn too... :(
 I can but wish you good luck! And a happy Christmas day, just in case. I'm not big on Christmas at all (I don't really get all the family nonsense related to it, actually) but who knows, you might want to celebrate it somehow.

:lmao: I'm just as bad as you are. I rather like gifts and lights and so on, but Christmas really isn't all that suitable for poor people since you can't afford to buy gifts (and not everyone in the world can use MORE of my jewelry). But thank you - and happy holidays to you too!
