Several wonderful people donated points so I could extend my premium membership! As a thank-you, here is a quick feature of their fabulous art!
Slave2Karma does fabulous, slightly-surreal drawings. I could recognize her style from a million miles away:
porsheee is one of the sweetest people you'll meet around here. And she is one -fantastic- writer and a great observer of human nature:
The shack by the seaThe roar of the waves is deafening in my ears and I sigh- my element.
I close my eyes, salty sea air filling my nostrils and my senses reaching out, feeling the rough sea rock beneath me, wind whipping my hair and clothing back- a light spray sprinkling my outstretched arms.
This was the place of dreams. As others dream of unicorns and mermaids and solid clouds I dream of the ocean, the rocks, the soft sand of the beach or the crumble of a cliff. And here I am.
Once a year I come here as my summer vacation, the best gift I could ever have.
To others a dreary falling apart shack is nothing, but to me I’d never be anywhere else in the universe if I could.
I love the whistling wind and the crashing waves and the way the rocks bite into my bare feet, a brilliant tan against the dark gray ground.
The smell is home and the brooding clouds are a loving hug.
One day I was to join it permanently as ash, carbon being all that’s left of my once living body. And it isn’t that bad
All About UsI looked at myself in the mirror- the dark green suit that matched my eyes and the slightly darker green suit pants.
They cost a ton of money and you could tell- they were comfortable but fitting.
Though I felt a bit like a piece of human kelp I could tell it wasn’t all bad. My eyes now looked an almost magical or foresty green, which was slightly weird since my mother was the sky goddess. I guess I must've gotten it from my dad or maybe mom had liked green eyes at the time.
As it was, my eyes were really the only thing I liked about myself.
I was normal. And I was fine with that. My dad.. it was almost scary living in the same house. I could tell being in the same room as others made them uncomfortable- like he was already a star, why were they there? He outranked them. Which was why I liked my not-ugly-but-normal looks because I didn’t want to stand out or make others nervous. I wanted to be me, however I looked.
Satisfied, I checked my watch. I was going to the God
Aryiea has done some superb trading with me, and I expect much superb trading over the long-term with her. She makes stuff that looks like it came right out of an HP Lovecraft story:
And finally, my beloved ChaosFay. Anyone who follows this journal knows her by now
I just guest blogged a Beginners Guide to Wire Wrapping over at GemstonesAdvisor.com. If you are interested in learning how to wire wrap but don't have a clue how to begin, check it out. I'm especially pleased with the supplies section, which is more thorough than other guides I've seen. Have a look at the rest of the site too; it has a lot of great information on gemstones.
Today A U.S. Appeals court struck down net neutrality. Net neutrality is what allows all websites to compete for traffic without Internet Service Providers (ISPs) speeding up or slowing down access. This was done by exploiting a legal loophole. www.huffingtonpost.com/craig-a… Read more about it here. Basically, if the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) doesn't reclassify internet services as telecommunication services or find another way to stop this, ISPs will allow large companies to pay for their sites to be seen and will bury small sites. This will harm business owners and entrepreneurs all over the country--including myself. It could even harm sites like DeviantArt.
Please sign this petition: act.freepress.net/sign/interne…
And if you could please share this on your journal, that would be wonderful.
We need to act fast. This is a very serious matter.
Anyone want free awesome TV?
I accidentally purchased a used Blu-Ray copy of Season 1 of Pushing Daisies the other week. I do not have a Blu-Ray player, but paying the return shipping for a rather small refund is a hassle. If anyone here wants a FREE copy of Season 1 (for Blu-Ray), respond to this entry. First-come first-serve. I will send it to you out of the kindness of my heart.

I am now taking POINTS as a payment method for jewelry purchases.
It seems that DA now allows me to convert points into actual cash which I can withdraw through PayPal. So, PayPal and money orders are no longer my sole payment methods. You can now buy jewelry from me using points. This includes commissions as well as pieces which are posted for sale. Please note me if you would like to purchase something I've posted so I can calculate the shipping for you (as well as the value of the piece in points!).
So it'd be like this:
$15 item: 1200 points
$20 item: 1600 points
$30 item: 2400 points
and so on.
International shipping seems to run me about $10 these days, so add on another 800 points if you're not in the US.
US shipping: 400 points.
